Michelle Hawthorne | REALTOR® | Generations Real Estate Partners

For more than 30 years, Michelle Hawthorne has been helping buyers and sellers achieve their real estate goals throughout the Tri-Cities, Burnaby, New Westminster, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and surrounding communities. As a founding member of Generations Real Estate Partners at RE/MAX, Michelle is known for her genuine care, exceptional communication, and unwavering commitment to helping clients make confident real estate decisions.

Born in Vancouver, raised in Burnaby, and having raised her own family in Coquitlam before downsizing to the vibrant, walkable community of Port Moody, Michelle brings firsthand experience to every stage of homeownership. She understands the excitement of buying a first home, the demands of raising a family, and the emotions that come with downsizing into the next chapter. Today, she enjoys walking to local cafés and restaurants, hopping on the SkyTrain, and embracing the active Tri-Cities lifestyle she proudly recommends to her clients.

A graduate of Simon Fraser University (B.A. ’91) with additional post-graduate studies, Michelle has always been drawn to the strategic side of real estate. Her passion for contracts, negotiations, and problem-solving allows her to anticipate challenges, find practical solutions, and guide clients confidently through even the most complex transactions. Since becoming licensed in 1995, she has earned the trust of multiple generations of families who continue to refer their friends, neighbours, and loved ones.

Away from real estate, Michelle is a proud wife, mother, and grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren who remind her every day why home and family matter so much. Having grown up playing team sports before spending years as a dedicated hockey, baseball, and soccer mom, she understands the value of teamwork, commitment, and showing up when people are counting on you. Today, you’ll often find her on the golf course, exploring local cycling routes, or planning the next adventure for family and friends. Affectionately known as “Julie” from The Love Boat, she’s the one everyone counts on to organize memorable trips and bring people together.

As Michelle’s career has evolved, so has the role she plays in her clients’ lives. Today, she has become a trusted resource for seniors looking to downsize and for adult children helping aging parents navigate one of life’s biggest transitions. Whether coordinating a move to a retirement community, preparing a longtime family home for sale, or assisting with an estate, Michelle understands the emotional and practical challenges these situations often bring.

Many families have affectionately referred to Michelle as their “in-town daughter”—someone they can rely on when they can’t be there themselves. She takes that responsibility to heart, coordinating trades, communicating with family members, solving unexpected challenges, and ensuring every detail is handled with care and compassion. It is a role she has naturally grown into over the years, and one she considers one of the most rewarding parts of her career.

Michelle believes real estate is about far more than buying and selling homes. Whether she’s helping a first-time buyer, a growing family, or a senior preparing for their next chapter, her goal is always the same: to provide trusted advice, thoughtful guidance, and genuine care through every stage of life’s transitions. She wants every client and every family to feel informed, supported, and confident long after the keys have changed hands.
