I feel like I’ve been here before!
The no cash thing takes me back to childhood, to my grandmother’s home in a small village on Scotland’s west coast where I spent long happy holidays. Shopping anywhere on the main street was cashless – the bills came to my grandmother once a month and she delivered cheques on the next shopping trip.
What about the grocery deliveries, glass bottles and brown paper bags? All making a comeback after we have messed up the oceans with our throw away plastics – maybe we’ll see a return of the milk truck delivering to our doorstep?
Families out walking together, playing board games, doing jigsaw puzzles and having kitchen parties, with the accompanying live music, are all part of our combined history. Inspiring to see how we can recreate this warmth of hearth and home.
And….children actually conversing with grandparents without looking at their phones! That’s one thing about being part of a small screen visit – focus is essential!
Finally – the long distance commuter is happiest of all – 110 kilometers per hour on empty roads! We know that our increased, and ever increasing, traffic congestion is one of the factors which force retirees from the Lower Mainland to move to small communities where they feel safely able to keep driving.
We are not celebrating the pandemic – rather celebrating our resilience and combined memory in reinstating the useful, joyful practices of the past while hoping that some of these move forward as part of our future.
Turns out that today’s interest rates are the lowest in anyone’s memory and turns out that current Covid protocols, put in place as protection, turn out to be great marketing! Imagine only having your home shown to buyers who have seen the video, all the photos, the up to date floorplan, toured the neighborhood and have their financing in place? No more real estate tourists out for a Sunday ride, no looky lous elbowing their way through the crowd – just honest to goodness buyers finding the right fit for them! Sounds like this could be a valuable plan for the future when Covid is just a memory.
Always trying to plus one our service and procedures, while minding Dr.Bonnie’s advice to be kind, calm and safe, we still have you covered.
