TGIF: Once more with feeling!

The wonderful weather, all the festivals, celebrations, barbecues, vacations, road trips & summer reunions just made that summer fly!

And here we are at that magical time of year doing it all again, but better, looking for those new learning and recreational opportunities.

Our various cities have some great offerings – just look on their websites. No matter what your interests, there is something to excite all ages.

Coquitlam’s Evergreen Theatre is kicking off its Fall and Winter season with a MoTown dance party Saturday evening – they are promising a line up of variety in music & theatre for the upcoming season….and the theatre is at Lafarge SkyTrain station! The local farmers markets extend our summer feeling, continuing through September with all the great seasonal bounty.

As the season gears up, Port Moody & TriCities residents are sad to have lost one of the strong arts hubs, the Gallery Bistro on Clarke Street. It was burned out, losing musical instruments, art exhibits and a venue for artists of all kinds, amateur and professional. This was a hopping place thanks to the perseverance and hard work of owners, Helen and Rainer Daniels. Their contribution to the local arts scene was huge and from the heart. A tribute and fundraising event will take place at the new Port Moody Legion, 2529 Clarke St. Sunday, September 15 from 3 – 9 – with all the musicians giving back, a chance for a wonderful evening and to say thank you to the Daniels and the artists who made life at the Gallery so much fun.

Good luck to all the students and teachers starting another year. We thank our diligent police officers for being in those school zones as a reminder to SLOW DOWN!

REAL ESTATE wise – we are seeing multi generational families taking advantage of the large homes which have declined in price the most over the past 2 years. At the cost of rent these days and low interest rates, it makes no sense to continue paying off someone else’s mortgage, when you could get together, paying off your own. Look for the 10 year fixed mortgage at 3.04% and be secure in your own home. Waiting for the “bottom” is a great risk – the only way you’ll know the detached market has bottomed is when it starts to rise again!!

Talking strategy is in our DNA – happy to help you with designing your real estate moves any time. No matter the season, we have you covered!

Continuing in our favourite tradition of trust and care – we are

Generations Real Estate Partners,

Michelle, Scott, Sheila, Ray and Shane.
