With the typical luck of the Irish, we have a gorgeous day for the wearing of the green! Happy St.Paddy’s Day! Our local Irish pub – St. James’s Well, will be hopping today serving the green beer and Irish fare.

St. Patrick’s Day is no different from many other significant dates as it started out as a religious celebration to commemorate the death of the foremost patron Saint of Ireland, then evolved into one of the largest secular celebrations of the year. There are festivals, parades, ceilidhs and the Chicago River running green today! ‘Patricus’ was brought to Ireland as a slave, became a priest and spent his life as a missionary, explaining the Holy Trinity using the 3 leaves of the shamrock. Today we pay tribute to Irish culture and know that those leprechauns can’t see us to pinch us as long as we’re wearing the green!

Kudos to the City of Coquitlam today as the initial shovel of earth is turned for a rental housing project – the first of its kind for 4 decades. Redbrick Properties have designed an efficient, beautiful, cost effective project bringing new market rental homes to the up and coming Austin Heights walkable neighbourhood. It is anticipated that construction will be completed by August 2019. Let us hope that this is part of a new trend moving forward.

We wish all our young families a happy Spring break whether at home or away. Looks like the weather will be cooperating.

May you have the luck of the Irish today and every day. We still have you covered even without the green!

Best wishes – Michelle, Scott, Sheila, Ray and Shane
